The first thing you need to do as soon as you spot a female of your liking is to develop and maintain eye contact. However, there's a difference between looking and staring, i.e., attentive and obsessive eye contact, in technical terms. Agreed, you want her to know you are noticing her, but you certainly can't get any closer t know how to pick up a woman if you make her uncomfortable with your eyes. You need to give breaks in between furtive glances to let her know that you are interested. If you are in a group, it would even be better, since she would know that you are focusing on her and ignoring everybody else. Women like that kind of attention! However, make sure that when you are not looking at her, you are either talking to the group, or paying attention to your drink. Never ever look at another woman in the same way. That will put her off you for sure
